After that, it is sent to the senior members of the organisation to be edited if necessary. Then it is performed on streets with people from all walks of life acting in it – from students and office workers to housewives and even businessmen. Nukkad nataks are usually performed in various languages, depending upon the command of the language of the audience. The plays are usually accompanied by music played live. These plays can be performed during any event, such as Diwali and Eid Milad Nabi (Birthday of Prophet Muhammed). The most notable feature of this genre is that it is performed in front of a big number of people – sometimes even more than a thousand. Such street plays can draw audiences by the hundreds and even thousands, and this gives them a larger reach than most other forms of art.
